Jane Alexander goes pop culture

I quite remember when I saw Butcher Boys at the Habana Bienal. Twenty some years later the imagery has become sort of an icon of national White South African identity out of the apartheid years, spilling over popular culture. I suppose artist Jane Alexander disapproved of the appropriation of her work because it takes away the original meaning of dehumanization while being glamorized by bands such as Die Antwoord.
