Tonight I hadthe privilege of being invited to the private opening of "Queloides", the seminal exhibition on race and racism in Cuba at The8thFloor. This show is part of the "SiCuba! Festival; being held in NYC from March to June 2011. The first in a series of “Queloides” installments was held in April 2010 at Center Wilfredo Lam in Havana after so much controversy. After that it traveled to Pittsburgh were it was exhibited from October 2010 to February 2011. Fortunately, it has now come to NYC's The8thFloor; made possible by the generosity of The Shelley and Donald Rubin Foundation. The official opening of this show in NYC is on April 12th at The8thFloor from 11- 6 pm. Information is in the link bellow, please don't miss this opportunity to catch up with great Cuban art of today.
